FLEXIBLE SPACE STRUCTURES
This flexible space structure is based on a triangular grid. Triangular nodes in two layers are connected via beams. Those beams provide the flexibility of the structure. Depending on their length and diameter, the flexibility of the structure can be varied.
The first object generated with this structure was a test piece among others during studies in 2006. After a three year break, work on the structure restarted in 2009, at first with two smaller versions of the original test object. Future plans are a generative sample of the stucure based on Rhino/Grasshopper that allows to adjust all relevant parameters like grid measures, lenght and diameter of the beams etc.
